A Helping Hand To The Flood-Struck Families

With torrential water streams breaking from the Hirakud Dam, the devastating flooding halted the entire Jajpur City of Odisha, back in September 2020, and put the place in grief. Hundreds lost their lives, while thousands lost their livelihood, their property and much more. Some of them even faced an acute shortage of basic necessities like groceries and food to sustain their life.

CSM, under its BYOM initiative, and with the assistance of volunteers, reached out to the communities in Jajpur, for helping the people in need and to contribute dry groceries for 100 flood affected families in Jajpur. Our Flood Relief Drive was on September 12, 2020, with CSMers responding to the situation with much zeal, enthusiasm and a spirit of giving. Products like candles, matchboxes, rice, dal, clothes and other basic essentials were distributed by the team, in Purshotampur, Lalitgiri, Chandikhol, and Jajpur locations.

Although a lot of challenges were faced by the team themselves, but the indomitable spirit of helping people, leaving no stone unturned to let the communities revive from the situation, providing exclusive support at ground level, and supporting residents to bounce back from the natural disaster, has been truly commendable.

CSM Family envisions to strengthen the society by providing adequate assistance and emergency aid to the needy in their critical times. With faith, belief and selfless devotion, BYOM will keep coming forward in tough times, to be of help and aid to people.
